Thanks for all your blog comments! Since most of the questions were from people who couldn’t eat grapefruit because of the interactions with their medication, I’ve found an alternative to grapefruit.
Unfortunately, it’s not as nice-tasting as grapefruit, but it does the job…
You can achieve grapefruit’s fat-burning results by taking 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) in a glass of water upon awakening and then you can eat your normal diet.
It works because the bicarbonate group is alkaline and can help to shift your pH. Most people who try this have a sense of well-being and noticeable increased energy very shortly after drinking the baking soda, and that is a sure sign that they were too acidic.
Be sure not to take the baking soda close to a meal or it will neutralize all the hydrochloric acid in your stomach and the food will sit there like a rock!!
This is a great natural remedy that’s worked really well for myself and clients. If you have any medical conditions that you think might be affected by baking soda (I can’t think of any), speak to your doctor.
